Carbohydrates : Winning a Majority of Body

Carbohydrates provide taste and variety to our food. By themselves, they are the source of energy from food the most important part of our plan. Existing form of sugars, starches, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides and fiber, carbohydrates are one of the three most important macro-nutrients that provide the body’s energy intake. A landmark report which recommends that at least 55% of daily energy intake from different sources of carbohydrates such as cereals, sugar, fruits, vegetables and legumes.

Good news about carbohydrates! The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization (FAO / WHO) (1) recently published a report on the role of these organic compounds in human nutrition. This report reviews, for the first time in nearly 20 years, all forms of carbohydrates and their impact on health and disease. With better knowledge of their digestion, absorption and metabolism, it is much easier to understand now how these elements improve the nutrition and health act.
